Breakthrough Central Texas is a long-term academic program that provides a path to college for students who will be first-generation college graduates. From the end of their 6th grade year until 6 years after they graduate high school, Breakthrough works closely with these students, their families, and the school staff to support their success in school. We do this by providing a 6-week summer program after their 6th, 7th, and 8th grade school years, providing academic enrichment during the school year, hosting after-school tutorials, and assigning each student an academic adviser to provide individualized support, as well as so much more. While the student is in high school, we also provide test prep, individualized advice about careers and colleges, and help with applications and financial aid. In college, we continue to support our students by helping them navigate the complex world of college admissions, classes, internships, and finding a job. The best part is that this program is 100% free to our students; we only ask that they pay with their hard work!
