The McCallum Vertical Team is pleased to present the documentary Screenagers.
In the award winning documentary SCREENAGERS, physician and filmmaker Delaney Ruston takes a deeply personal approach as she probes into the vulnerable corners of family life, including her own, to explore struggles over social media, video games, academics and internet addiction. Through poignant, and unexpectedly funny stories, along with surprising insights from authors, psychologists, and brain scientists, SCREENAGERS reveals how tech time impacts kids’ development and offers solutions on how adults can empower kids to best navigate the digital world and find balance. The film will be shown at the McCallum Theater on October 23rd at 5:30 and again at 7pm. It is open to all parents of students who attend McCallum, Kealing, Lamar and all feeder elementary schools. Parents are encouraged to bring their students aged 10 and up. Because the MAC Theater has limited seating, we're asking that secondary school students and parents attend the 7pm showing and that elementary school parents and older elementary students attend the earlier showing. Of course if this isn't possible for your family, either showing is open. Below is a link to the Screenager's Website which has a movie trailer as well as useful tools to help you and your student navigate digital life. https://www.screenagersmovie.com/ ,The Kealing Guidance Department is excited to announce that AISD high schools will be visiting our campus to give brief presentations during advisory in lieu of a high school fair. Each high school will be given the opportunity to bring representatives to speak on the school’s behalf, provide a power point and have pamphlets/information available at the end to distribute to students. Please see the schedule below for visits.
