Last year, all of the participating high schools did a wonderful job of showcasing their schools’ special programs and offering their insight into the high school experience for rising 9th graders. It will be helpful and exciting for students to get a taste of what their high school has to offer. Last year, schools brought flyers, tri-folds, did mini demonstrations and many brought a few high school students with them to speak on their behalf. It would be helpful if students know their zoned high school. Below is a link to the AISD school assignment by resident address (SARA), where you can enter your address to identify your zoned high school. https://www.austinisd.org/schools/sara Please visit the counseling website for continued updates on upcoming high school transition events. http://kmsguidance.weebly.com/ The National Alliance for Mental Illness (NAMI) is offering a free six week course that helps parents and other family caregivers of children to understand the illnesses that are causing those behavioral difficulties, and the critical role families play in the treatment of those illnesses.
